Clear Skies And Budding Trees

This early evening, it was so nice outside. The skies were clear, the Sun was shining, and the First Quarter Moon was visible. I’ve also noticed, that our Bradford Pear tree buds start to open up. It won’t be long, before we have beautiful blossoms on these ornamental trees, again. I can’t wait for warmer Spring weather, so I can plant more in the home garden and The Colony Community Garden.

After The Rain (2)

It rained in the early morning hours and all afternoon, today. But once the rain was gone, the clouds began to move out. And we’ve got rewarded with a colorful sunset. I can’t wait to see the Sun after three days of rain, again. It was too gloomy, the last few days.

Randy, The Red-bellied Woodpecker

Oh look, who shows up in our yard every morning! It’s Randy, the Red-bellied Woodpecker. He gets very curious, when the Blue Jays visit for picking up some peanuts from the slinky. Randy flies in our Bradford Pear tree, looks around, sees food on the plate, has a snack and disappears until the next day. Then he comes back for a morning visit, gets a snack and gone he is again. I’ve noticed this for about the last eight to ten days, now. This morning, he said Hello in this 28°F (-2°C) weather. Being in the sun, and the harsh wind is gone, the temperatures are actually not that bad. Randy and his friends, the Blue Jays, seem to enjoy it.

Randy is a bit shy. He loves to play “Peek-a-boo” with my camera. 😀

Beautiful January Evening (2)

Beautiful skies, we had this afternoon. The wind was strong and brisk, but the Sun was warm. Friday suppose to be warm in the low 70s (21°C), before we drop into the low 20s (-6°C) on Sunday night. Kevin and I need to bring some potted plants, including the Meyer Lemon tree in the garage for a couple of nights. But in the meantime, we enjoy the warmer temperatures, before the Texas Winter comes back.

Rainy January Day

We were hoping for some snow this week. But all we’ve got was rain and ice rain, the last few days. The next days suppose to be sunny and much warmer up in to the 60s (15°C – 21°C). So, no snow in sight for us. And when Mother Nature doesn’t give us the right weather for the season, I just decorate the house with snowmen and snowflakes. 😉
