Flame Acanthus (Anisacanthus Wrightii)
Last year, I planted a few Mealy Cup Sage plants around the water fountain in the frontyard. We’ve got a few blooms, but not many of them. This Spring is the second year for these perennials. And they are thriving in this weather. Since the Mealy Cup Sage is facing the south side of the house, the plants get tons of sun and the warm radiation of the bricks in the evenings. Hopefully we’ll see some butterflies on the blossoms soon.
Kevin, Sara and I picked up some blooming perennials from the local nursery. We got more catnip for Joshua and Chewbacca. And for the future swallowtail butterflies, we’ve got fennel plants. In the afternoon Sara helped me get the plants in the greenhouse. Her and I also put some more flower seeds in the raised bed garden. In the evening, Sara and I cooked some hummingbird nectar. She can’t wait for her flower garden to grow and the hummingbirds to visit the backyard.
