The year is already halfway through. And now, begins my favorite six months of the year. It is also the 30 months mark of my blog page. 950 blogs and almost 3,600 pictures later, “Under The Pecan Tree” is still going strong.
Common Sunflowers on the Texas Blackland Prairie
Due to our vacation in the Pacific Northwest, the Paul McCartney concert, and Sara’s dance recital, I took a little break from “Flower Friday”. But now, we are back to normal. And I’ll post photos of beautiful garden flowers and wildflowers each Friday again. Enjoy! 😉
Our sunflowers started to bloom, earlier this week. Now, one after the other pops up. Later in the Summer or early Autumn, the birds can reap what they have sown. Meanwhile, the poblano peppers begin to grow. Soon, I can make guacamole from garden fresh tomatoes, poblano, onions, and cilantro. Can I ask for more? 😉
The cucumber plant took its sweet time, but we have one fruit growing in the garden. The birds did their magic by planting sunflowers around it. I hope, we will get more cucumbers throughout the Summer, since they can climb up the sunflowers, which will also add some sweetness to the fruits.
