The next couple of days, we will celebrate the Independence of the USA.
On Friday, we saw Paul McCartney live in the Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, which is also the home of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team. Kevin and I had a good time, Paul was very natural and down to Earth for what he has accomplished in the music business over the last six decades: genius and humbled. Here are some photos, I’ve captured with my cell phone:

Katelynn was participating in the Parade of Lights, tonight. Unfortunately, the photo I have captured of her didn’t turn out the way I wanted it. It was too dark. Oh well! It’s not the end of the world. But I still captured some photos of the event in our community. We had a beautiful night. Sara and the neighbor’s boys collected candy from the floats. And Katelynn had a good time, marching with her band mates in the parade. The weather was nice and warm enough for Sara to be in shorts. Yeah, in Texas it is a little bit harder to get into the mood of the holidays, when it is still 70ºF (21ºC) during the days. But this suppose to change on Monday. And we will have a fire burning in the fireplace, hot cocoa, and snuggly pyjamas, while watching Christmas movies in the evenings.
Kevin, the girls and I went to the American Heroes Festival, this evening. But we didn’t stay until the fireworks. The girls were bored and hungry already, before Sawyer Brown came on stage. And it was cold anyway. So we left early to have dinner at a local restaurant. It was nice to see Restless Hearts live, let the kids go on some rides and hang out with their friends. When the sun set, I captured some long exposures of the fair rides.
Happy National Mickey Mouse Day!
Your smile is infectious
Your innocence is contagious
Your charms are magical
Every word you say is special
Your actions are super cute
They lift our spirits like a parachute
You touch our lives in a special way
Wish you a very happy 89th Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse!
Kevin and I went to see Brets Michaels at the Lava Cantina in The Colony, yesterday. We had tickets for the balcony, and just wanted to enjoy a concert at this beautiful evening. The food was great. Kevin had the BLT, and I had Smoked Chicken Quesadilla. The service was great, too. The waiter was friendly. The food was hot, the drinks were cold. 🙂
After the opening band played some great rock’n’roll music for an hour, Bret came out and rocked the place. He has a great line-up of band members as well: Pete Evick (guitarist) works with Bret several years, and he also could be seen in the VH1 show “Rock of Love” back in 2009; Eric Brittingham also plays the bass guitar in the band Cinderella; Rob Jozwiak (keyboards); and Mike Bailey (drums), who’s also President and Artist Relations Director for Potomac Records in Washington, D.C.
What had the evening been without good ol’ Poison songs like “Look What The Cat Dragged In”, “Nothing But A Good Time”, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”, “Unskinny Bop”, “Something To Believe In” … etc? And the band jammed “Sweet Home Alabama” from Lynyrd Skynyrd and “Rock And Roll All Nite” from Kiss. The whole place was catapulted back into the late 80s/early 90s, again.
Overall it was a great party last night. The only thing, I’d change for the next event at Lava Cantina: purchase front seats to get a better look at the stage. 😉 But it was great, since we went to this venue for the first time. Kevin and I still could see everything on the big screen, while we sipped on our beer.
