For the last couple of days, I waited that my geranium begins to bloom. This afternoon, I checked on the potted soil in our greenhouse. And lookie there! The geranium is in bloom. Aren’t the blossom beautiful? I love these pinkish colored flowers. Since this plant smells like citronella, it is a great mosquito repellent. I catch myself very often, rubbing my fingers on its leaves. Several years ago, I had a geranium. But I must have over-watered it. And unfortunately it didn’t survive. This season I gave it another shot. And it seems like, I’m getting rewarded for being a little bit more patient with it. ❤
Beginning of May was like a light switch for the Texas weather. As soon as May 1st came around, the temperatures began to rise significantly. And today, will be the first day of this season when we hit over 90ºF in DFW. This time of the year, I rather hike in the mornings. It is still cooler. And I love the morning dew around my feet and ankles. At this time of the day, wildlife is more active before they’ll rest during the midday’s heat. So I chose to go to a local pond, this morning. Original I was frog hunting with my camera. But they were all hiding, as soon as I came closer to the water. In the distance, I saw some Mallard Ducks and a couple of Red-eared Slider Turtles resting close at the pond’s edge. Momma Duck and her eight ducklings took a short break in the shade, before they swam to the other ducks across the pond. I kept watching them all waddling up the hill. When it started to get much warmer, I walked back to the car and drove home. My morning hike is done for today.
