Wow! I can’t recall, I’ve ever started a fire in our fireplace here in North Texas in October. But everything has its first time. Earlier I cleaned up the fireplace and stocked up on wood. While I’ve got the firewood from the wood pile, it began to rain. But it sounded more like ice rain falling on the still green leaves of the trees in our backyard. And sure enough there was some sleet mixed in with the rain. Chewbacca was hiding from the wind and the rain in “Finley’s Clubhouse” (formerly known as the dog house). I had to call and coax him in several times. But once he started running toward the patio door, he came in quickly.
Tonight, the temperatures supposed to fall to 31ºF. Just right below the freezing point. This is a big gap from yesterday’s high of 82ºF. Kevin will run another Half-Marathon at the Shoreline Trail by the lake, tomorrow morning. With the cold temperatures already, and the even colder winds coming in from across the lake, it will be chilly. I hope, he and the other runners will wear the right gear for these weather conditions. 😉 Those muscles need to stay warm, especially in this cooler weather.
