Scarlet Flax (Linum grandflorum)

I always admired the flower pictures of a photo friend I know on Facebook for the last four years. The flowers are so beautiful. Several blooms particular caught my interest. One of them was the scarlet flax. Wondering if they would grow in this warm Texas climate, I did some research online. And see there: the brand I usually buy my seeds from, had envelopes of scarlet flax at the nursery. In March I was sowing a few seeds. Today, I got rewarded with its first blossom.
