Like last month I’m not sure, if we will have overcast tomorrow evening. Since the sky is clear enough, I captured a photo of the Moon while it is still in is Waxing Gibbous stage tonight.
Three years ago, I’ve noticed that I had some caterpillars on my dill and parsley. After doing some online research, I found out that these little caterpillars are the babies of a black swallowtail butterfly. From that day on I made sure, I always had some dill and parsley growing in my garden and in the greenhouse.
This is the fourth year, I’m working on raising these little caterpillars into butterflies. Two days ago, I’ve noticed them on my dill. Since I experienced losing the caterpillars to birds for feeding their offspring, I transferred the black swallowtail caterpillars into the greenhouse, where is plenty of dill and parsley for them to munch on for the next days. Once they turn into a beautiful butterfly, the girls and I will give them names, blessings and release them.
Stay tuned for more information. We’ve got about eight caterpillars in the greenhouse.
