A Hike In The Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

At this morning, I drove to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. I hoped to see some Texas Bluebonnets. But when I arrived, not a single bloom was in the meadow. So, I hiked the main trail for a little bit. And I found some blooming trees and other small blossoms in the Riparian Forest area. Later I took a shortcut through the Pond trail. I sat down and watched some ducks at the pond. It’s courting and mating season for them. Some little fish swam in the shallow water right in front of me. After I rested a little bit, I went back to the parking lot. I guess, I have to wait another 2 – 3 weeks for the Bluebonnet to emerge and bloom all over the Texas prairies. But it is so worth waiting. It will look so beautiful seeing a sea of blue all over the meadows, again.
