Senior Melanistic Red-eared Slider Turtle

We had a high of 76º Fahrenheit, today. The weather was perfect for spending some time outdoors. I went to a turtle pond, close to my daughter’s elementary school. Halfway around the pond, I saw some turtles bathing in the sun. Most of them were shy, and slit into the water as soon as they saw me. Others were a little bit more relaxed. There was also a much bigger turtle, which I couldn’t place its species. But after some research and help online, I finally figured it out. It was an old melanistic red-eared slider turtle, I saw at the shoreline.
